What it includes

Choosing paint colours is hard. Kevin offers in-home colour consultations across Worcestershire — looking at your light through the day, your existing furniture and architecture, then recommending palettes that work in your home rather than someone else's Instagram feed. Sample pots, swatch boards and honest opinions included.

  • On-site colour consultation in your home
  • Heritage and contemporary palette guidance
  • Sample pots and brushed-out swatch boards
  • Paint matching to existing colours

What's involved

So you know exactly what Kevin will be doing in your home, and in what order.

  1. A conversation first

Before any colour cards come out, Kevin asks what you actually want from the room — restful or lively, period or contemporary, and what has to stay: a carpet, a sofa, a worktop, a favourite piece of art.

  2. Reading the light

Which way the windows face, how much sky the room sees, whether it is used mostly by day or by lamplight. A north-facing sitting room and a south-facing kitchen need different colours to feel the same warmth.

  3. Building a palette

Kevin puts together wall, ceiling, woodwork and feature colours that work as a set, and shows how they flow from room to room through the hall so the house feels joined up rather than a list of separate decisions.

  4. Sample boards, not patches

Colours are brushed out in two coats onto boards you can move around the room and stand against the carpet and curtains at different times of day. No blotchy test squares left on your walls.

  5. Written summary

You get the final choices written down — brand, exact colour name, finish and where each one goes — so the decorating quote matches the plan, whoever ends up doing the work.

Good to know

Timings, disruption and practicalities

  • A consultation usually takes 1–2 hours for a couple of rooms, or a morning for a whole house.
  • Kevin is independent — he is not tied to one paint brand and will happily specify what suits the job.
  • The fee is credited against your decorating quote if you go ahead with the work.
  • Existing colours can be matched from a sample of skirting, a tin lid or a piece of the old wallpaper.
